Assessment

Assessment

Children’s progress is monitored, using Insight, through ongoing informal assessment and formal set tasks. This enables us to track and monitor every child's progress and immediately identify  any difficulties or strengths to ensure that every child is fulfilling their potential.

Children in Year 1 (5 - 6 year old) will take part in the phonics screening check in the Summer Term and results are reported to parents in the end of year written reports.

Children in Year 2 (6 - 7 year olds) will take non compulsory National Curriculum Tests in the Summer Term and results are reported to parents in the end of year written reports.

Children in Year 4 (8 - 9 year olds) will take part in the multiplication tables check in the Summer Term.

Reports

During the Spring Term, all parents are given a brief mid-year report focusing on maths and English. In the Summer Term, they are given a more lengthy written report including attainment in all subject areas.

Consultation Evenings

Consultation Evenings are held in the Autumn and Spring terms and one can be requested in the Summer term once the written reports have been distributed. These are an occasion when you can formally discuss your child’s work and progress. Obviously, if parents are concerned about their children, for whatever reason, they are welcome to come in and discuss the problem with the head or the class teacher.

We do ask that parents make an appointment for after school, rather than during the school sessions.
