Sustainability Day

Sustainability Day at Russell - Friday 28th May

As you will have seen from our newsletter this week, Friday will be Sustainability Day at Russell Lower School – we will all be invited to wear non-uniform and dress in Greens/Blues/Browns as ’Earth’ colours and look at the school’s new Eco Code. This includes our children who are isolating at home. We miss you all!

The children have already had an assembly on this - you can view this on the school website here.

The children will take part in some ‘environmental themed’ learning and the PTA have brought each class a ‘grow bag’ and some tomato plants so the children can grow – and eat – this fruit over the rest of the summer term.

We also know that the children are already busy growing sunflowers at home – this is all part of our ‘sustainability plan’ too.

Also linked to this, children and their parents will be invited on a community litter pick with Ampthill Climate Change Group and the PTA on Saturday 12th June. More details to follow.
