Safeguarding is of paramount importance at Russell Lower School. Â Russell Lower School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Our safeguarding and child protection procedures can be found in our Safeguarding Policy below. It can also be found under our policies section on the website. All staff and governors must ensure that they are aware of these procedures.
The Governor responsible for Safeguarding is Mrs Hannah Leech. You can email the school using safeguarding@russell-lower.co.ukÂ
The DSL and DDSLs undergo regular training via the LSCB (local safeguarding children board) such as 'Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children', ‘Working Together’ and 'Prevent' training.Â
The Headteacher, Deputy Head, DSL and Office Manager have also completed Safer Recruitment training.
The DSL and DDSLs also attend other training and network meetings over the year as well as making use of online training when relevant.
All staff receive Safeguarding and Prevent training annually with whole school Safeguarding training most recently provided by the Local Safeguarding Board in September 2025.
